FAQS

1. What types of medications do you currently provide?

We currently provide medications that categorize as non-hazardous, specialty infusions (IVIG & biologics). Please call in regards to other medication inquiries.

2. How do you ensure patient safety in a home setting?

Safety measures include nurse-administered infusions and ongoing pharmacist monitoring. During our intake call, the pharmacist goes through a checklist to ensure the patient's home is safe for infusing at home.

3. How do you handle prior authorizations and insurance coverage?

The pharmacy verifies benefits, obtains prior authorizations, and works with payers to ensure coverage along with signing patients up for drug-specific assistance & grants

4. What is the process for initiating a home infusion referral?

Providers submit a referral with clinical notes, lab results, and prescriptions. The pharmacy conducts benefits investigation, starting the prior authorization, pharmacist conducts the intake call, nursing is established, infusion date is set, and then delivery is scheduled.

5. Can a home infusion pharmacy accommodate STAT or urgent medication needs?

Please call us to see if we are able to do the medication of choice as STAT/urgent. If it's a medical emergency, we recommend going to the ER and getting the urgent infusion, we can always have the patient start their infusion at home once they are clinically stable. This is primarily due to the lag time it takes with getting the medications approved. We would rather the patient get their medication in a timely fashion rather than attempt to rush and cause delays. We like to do things properly upfront so there are no surprises on the back end that can happen due to things being rushed.

6. Who provides the infusion equipment and supplies?

The home infusion pharmacy provides all necessary supplies, including infusion pumps, catheters, dressings, and flushes.

7. How often do patients receive medication deliveries?

Medication deliveries are typically scheduled based on treatment needs—weekly, biweekly, or monthly—ensuring appropriate storage conditions.

8. How are patients monitored for adverse reactions or therapy effectiveness?

Pharmacists and nurses follow up regularly (prior to the next delivery) and communicate with providers regarding any concerns.

9. Can patients transition from hospital outpatient infusion therapy to home infusion?

Yes, it is actually encouraged to help lower healthcare costs given the patient is a candidate for home infusion

10. I do not see an order sheet for my specific prescription, how can I see if you can service our patient?

Please see our generic form for any medication that is not listed on the website. We can run benefits and go from there.
